BC vs CCA vs CCS: Honest Factory Tells You The Truth
In China cable market, price war makes many factories use CCA/CCS. We only produce BC. Here is why.
1. What They Are
| Type | Meaning | Resistance per 100m |
|---|---|---|
| BC | Bare Copper 100% | ~9.5Ω (CAT6) |
| CCA | Aluminum with thin copper coating | ~15Ω (+58%) |
| CCS | Steel with copper coating | ~25Ω |
2. Why CCA Causes Complaints
- High resistance → PoE camera not enough power, night vision off.
- Easy oxidation → After 1 year in humid Africa, resistance doubles.
- Fluke test FAIL → NEXT and insertion loss fail over 60m.
- Brittle → Aluminum breaks when bending in installation.
3. 3 Ways to Test Without Machine (Teach Your Customer)
1. Magnet: BC no magnetic, CCS attracts strongly.
2. Weight: CAT6 305m BC ~11.5kg, CCA ~7.5kg, too light = fake.
3. Burn & Cut: Cut conductor, CCA shows silver inside, BC shows full copper yellow. Burn: aluminum becomes white powder.
Why NUBEN Only BC
We are factory since 2008, we know distributor loses client if cable fails after 1 year. Saving $5 per box but losing $5000 client is not worth. So all our CAT6, RG6, etc. are BC, with SGS copper test report.
